We use a short-link service to make long URLs more suitable for short-form messaging. By default, we generate links using qlnk.se or bosb.ec. However, you may prefer to use your own domain so that your recipients feel more comfortable clicking your links.
To set this up, follow these steps:
1. Add a CNAME Record
You need to add a CNAME record in your domain’s DNS settings. If you do not have access to your domain’s DNS, please contact your domain administrator or IT department.
CNAME Record Details:
- Type: CNAME
- Host (Domain Name): www.your-domain.se
- Value (CNAME): shorturl.bosbec.io
We recommend setting a lower TTL (Time to Live) so that updates propagate faster in case any changes are needed.
2. Verify Domain Ownership
Once you have added the CNAME record, you need to verify domain ownership. There are two ways to do this:
- DNS Verification (Recommended) – We will provide a unique code that you add as a DNS record.
- Email Verification – We send a confirmation email to the domain’s hostmaster, postmaster, or administrator.
3. Contact Support
After completing the setup, email us at support@bosbec.com with:
- The domain you want to use.
- Your preferred verification method (DNS or email).
Our team will verify the setup and confirm when your custom short URL is ready to use.
